Saturday’s BKFC Prospect Series in South Carolina is headlined by the unbeaten Brandon Bushaw as he tries to smash his way to 3-0 against his toughest opposition yet, the battle-tested “Slick” Rick Caruso.
Brandon Bushaw can begrudgingly deal with losing, but he can’t stand having a “no contest” at the end of his record.
“It’s worse than losing,” the Myrtle Beach, SC fighter says.
Bushaw’s no contest is the result of his BKFC 42 showdown with Rick Caruso. Bushaw unintentionally struck the back of Caruso’s head, forcing their highly anticipated bout to a premature ending.
“I’ve lost before and it’s OK. Two go in, only one can leave with the win. I’ve won plenty, so I know how to deal with that,” he says. “But a no contest is the weirdest feeling. You can’t feel bad, mad or happy. To be honest, I’ve struggled with that way more than any loss on my record.”
Bushaw has wanted this rematch since the moment BKFC Ring Announcer Jeff Houston proclaimed the result. Finally, he’ll get his wish. Bushaw and Caruso will square off for a second time on Oct. 26 in the Main Event of the BKFC Prospect Series event in Myrtle Beach, SC.
